Coronavirus / Covid-19 Update

To Our Clients

March 17, 2020

The West End Food Pantry will be having distribution on Saturday
March 21st from 9-noon. THIS WILL BE A DRIVE THRU PANTRY ONLY.
You will be given prepackaged bags of food. Sorry guys, no choices this week.

A few other important notes:

*YOU MUST STAY IN YOUR CAR THE ENTIRE TIME. PER ELDRED TWP, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE BUILDING FOR ANY REASON, NOT EVEN TO USE THE BATHROOM.

  • You must bring your Photo ID and current proof of residence for the typical sign-in system.
  • Be sure you live in one of the zip codes we feed and fall within the income guidelines before waiting in line. See this information at www.westendpantry.com.
  • You will not be allowed to pick up food for anyone else no matter the circumstance unless you have a current proxy form in place. No new proxy sign-ups will be allowed Saturday.
  • Do not come early as you will be turned out of the parking lot and directed to the end of the line.
  • Do not have ANY animals in your car as we will be signing through your car window and placing bags in your car. If you have an animal in your car you will be turned away.
  • Do not cross yellow tape or cones for ANY reason.
  • If all lines are full, you will be asked to come back so we do not block Kunkletown Road.
  • WE ARE SORRY BUT WE DO NOT HAVE ANY TOILET PAPER, HAND SANITIZER OR TOILETRIES. IF YOU ARE LOOKING ONLY FOR THESE ITEMS, WE ASK THAT YOU DO NOT COME AS WE DO NOT HAVE THEM AND WANT TO MINIMIZE UNNECESSARY CONGESTION.

I sincerely ask each of you to drive carefully, be aware of people & cars around you, abide by all the Constables helping with traffic control and please be patient. It is imperative that we are safe, flexible and patient. Cars can be deadly weapons. We understand you need food and we know our system won’t be perfect but we are trying our absolute best to help you in these unstable times.

Sincerely,

Karena Thek, Pantry Director

To Our Volunteers

March 17, 2020

Hi All,

We appreciate each and every one of you so MUCH! All year long, you help us accomplish our mission of feeding people in need with your hard work, compassion, and time.

I know you want to help more than ever in these unstable times! However, unless you have previously heard from me, PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE PANTRY FRIDAY OR SATURDAY TO VOLUNTEER. The Community Center is closed and we are only allowed a very limited group in the facility.
Rest assured, we will complete the mission Saturday with a drive thru pantry system.

Please use this time to rest, stay healthy, and enjoy the family. See you back as soon as the center opens again.

Sincerely,

Karena Thek, Pantry Director
